Description

I've been working on and off on this forever. I've never done interiors, so that's a first timer, I made a raw blocks render in 3DsMax to get the perspective right. Used my own silly face as ref, and tried to pay some good attention at the skintones.
First I wanted to try a sort of mixture style: 80's space opera and some jugendstill, well the jugendstill in the painting kinda ran away, but the oldskool space opera is still there I think.

Royal twins, the queen decided to take one of 'em away when they were babies, now the mom is dead and the two royal sisters might find themselves in a big big war. (cause the one sis who was taken away, grew up somewhere else, and ended up rulling everything and everybody there, guess it was just in het blood)
Very cliche story, I know, but it's fun

edit: and the-real-Kamui helped me get the skintones right!!!
Crits are welcome

Very Nice Work! I very like the way you have done the twin 'look like a drawing and the background 100% painthing' that make a very nice style, Great job on detail's and color (thumbup)

way cool figures in it
they look as if they're about to bite each other...muahahahaaa
i also love the colours and the atmo u made...the bg doesnt disturb me at all btw looks cool;)
only one thing i would object is the lines...in the tank girl painting they worked perfectly but here i might thin them...especially in the hair zone...gives me the feeling u just pasted the figures there(i know u didnt:p)
but i have to say...its cool

Nice image. To me, the outlines give it a slight nouveau flavor. Sweet.

Ahhh! I'm glad you all like the style, and Cigaro, I get what you mean.. I'm still trying to find a way to make paintings that have line art, but still look way cool. Thanks everyone! and the-real-Kamui, thank you for your advise on the skintones, helped out a lot.. in fact.. why the hell haven't I given you any credit in my description!

I think the drawing here is great...and the balance of line and colour work.

I'm a little confused though...before I read your description I assumed this was boy/ girl twins...the one on the right has a stronger, more masculine jawline and what appears to be a beard stubble...but you refer to them as sisters.
Personally i like the idea of the boy/girl twins...but it's your painting...so i would suggest you lose the grey shading on the right one's face to avoid more saps like me getting confused (or maybe I'm the only sap...in which case I'll shut up!!! :))

Well dear Kaduflyer.. she is more masculine ;) I guess lot's of people don't like the idea of masculine women, or find them extremly unattractive.. I myself have been in a dillemma about that too. I don't mind that she looks like a man, but at the same time, I don't want people to be grossed out about what I make. In the end I tones down her beard a bit (it was worse before this) just to confuse people.. guess I couldn't confuse you :)
Anyhows, thanks for you comment, I still don't know what to do.. go commercial and shave of the girls beard :p or keep it there and bug you ;)

I really like it, but I'm a little bit confused:

My first impression was, that this pic itself is a closeup. And then the closeup is a cropped version of the same picture.

since its a space opera i would have to assume this
takes place on another planet. (B)
